Arrangements have been made for the conduct of counselling for admission to engineering and pharmacy courses from Thursday. Counselling will be held online across the State in six centres at Hyderabad, Warangal, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Tirupati and Kadapa. Students can attended at any of the centres.

There are 286 colleges including new ones that are taking students through counselling. There are over 1.05 lakh seats in engineering and pharmacy courses. According to Technical Education in charge director RP Sisodia said that 48 colleges increased their intake this year. The set matrix has been changed as per the additions. As many as 31 colleges have opted to offer fee waiver to economically backward meritorious students. Students whose family income is less than Rs. 1 lakh per annum are eligible for the benefit.

He further said that a separate round of counselling would be held for filling the seats under supernumerary quota. The tuition fee in university engineering and pharmacy colleges is Rs. 10,000 a year and Rs. 27,500 in unaided private colleges. On the first day of counselling, 1 to 1000 ranked students have been called for counselling and subsequently, 2000 candidates will be counseled every day.
