EAMCET 2003 results on May 17
Convener of EAMCET, Prof Venkatram Reedy said that EAMCET 2003 results will be announced on May 17, 2003. The cut off mark for qualifying examination is set at 24 marks. This means that a candidate getting 24 or over marks is sure to get a rank. With increase in both Engineering and Medical seats in the state, it seems that a considerable good rank holder is sure to get a seat.

EAMCET 2003 held without any problems
Convener of EAMCET 2003, LVAR Sarma said that EAMCET examination was held without any hitches and that 98% of the students who took the applications appeared for the examination. However, it is known that some students used cell phones to communicate with outsiders during the examination in Guntur. Chairman of the Examinations and Vice-Chancellor of JNTU Sri Y Venkatrami Reddy said that there no initial reports of incorrect questions as of now. The key to the examination is expected to be released on 1 May 2003.

All arrangements for EAMCET 2003 made
Convener of EAMCET 2003 - Mr. LVAR Sharma said that all arrangements for the smooth conduction of EAMCET 2003 were made. He said that Minister for Technical Education will pick up the examination paper code the next day morning which will be informed to all Examination centers. A total of 1,32,276 candidates for Engineering and 41,130 for Medicine were writing this years EAMCET Examination to get admitted in Engineering and Medical Colleges in the state.

Minister for Technical Education Sri Narella Anjaneyulu announced that EAMCET 2003 examination will be conducted on April 26, 2003. For the fourth time, Jawajarlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad will be conducting the exams. Sale of applications will begin from February 14, 2003 and last date for submission of the same without any fine is March 4, 2003. Applications will be accepted at the Convener Office, JNTU with a fine after that date.

The Planning, Coordination and Monitoring Board (PCMB) said that it will be conducting its own Entrance Exam for the 12 Engineering collages under its control. Thus, candidates who appear for EAMCET, also have to write the PCMB Entrance Exam which is expected to be conducted on similar lines to EAMCET for getting admission in the
12 minority colleges.

Two new Medical Colleges were recognized by the State Government to conduct classes in Medicine. The colleges were Mamata Medical College, Khammam and Pratima Institute of Medical Sciences, Karimnagar. These two colleges will accommodate 100 medical seats each.
