1. (a) A ship has a displacement of 5500 t KG 5 M. 100 tonnes of diesel oil density 0.85 t/M3 is filled in a rectangular tank 11 m long 13 m broad. The tank is not full. If the CG of diesel oil is 0.5 m above the kneel, find GM (Fluid) in KM was 6.2 M. (6)
(b) A ship 90 m long is floating at draft 4.5 m and A 5.0 m. The centre of floatation is amidships. TPC 10 t MCTC 120 t m. Find the new draft if the total weight of 450 t is loaded in a position 14 m forward of amidships. (6)
2. A ship of displacement 15100 t, KM 8.9 m, KG 7.2 m is to discharge 100 t heavy lift from No. 2 L.H. (KG 3.0 m) by jumbo derrick whose head is 21 m above keel. Find GM (Fluid) when derrick lift weight to discharge it from L.H. (Given FSM = 1200 t m). (8)
3. Sketch and label the midship section of a cellular container vessel. (10)
4. (a) What information do you get from the General Arrangement Plan? (5)
(b) Sketch and label Stern frame. (5)
5. (a) With the help of sketch/s explain the difference between hogging and sagging. (5)

6. (a) Explain the provisions regarding the discharge of sewage into the sea. (5)
(b) Name the special areas of Annex-1 of MARPOL 73/78. (5)
