1. Write short notes on any four of the following : (4x5:20)

(vi) Long Term Memory and Short Term Memory

2. What do you understand by learner factors in second language learning? Disucss the effect of learner's age, sex and attitude. (20)

3. Why do people speak differently from one another? Discuss briefly the variations due to social class and regions. (20)

4. What is the notion of error analysis? How is it different from contrastive analysis? Describe the procedure used by error analysts. (20)

5. What do you understand by standardization of language? Discuss how it provides a language or a paricular variety of a language power and prestige in society. (20)

6. What do you understand by bilingualism? As a bilingual describe your own use of English and mother tongue / different language in different domains and situations. (20)
