1. Write short notes on any four of the following: (4x5=20)
(i) Grammar Games
(ii) Self esteem and leaming
(iii) Zip close method
(iv) Component skills for listening
(v) Teaching syllabic cues
(vi) The role of the teacher in promoting writing

2. What factors need to be taken into account to present system of education meaningful for the under-privileged learners? Discuss. (20)

3. Discuss the role of the teacher in creating opportunities for speaking English in the classroom at the primary level. You may specity the class you are teaching. (20)

4. What is auditory perception? Which factors are to be kept in mind while planning suitable task lor developing the child's auditory perception? Discuss. (5+15)

5. Compare the advantages of the didactic and discovery methods for teaching consonants. Write the steps involved in both the methods. (5+15)

6. Suggest some ways to develop an effective and meaningful writing programme which will motivate young learners to write in the second language. (20)

7. Discuss some ways in which writing activties can be done across tle curriculum for beginners. Suggest a suitable activity for integrating writing with art in a class of beginners. (10+10)

8. What are the different aspects of evaluation of writing? Discuss some of the ideas useful in eliminating the negative aspects of teacher evaluation. (10+10)
