1. Comment on any four of the following statements : (5x4)
(i) Anybody can import canalised items in India.
(ii) EDIFACT messages are not functional internationally.
(iii) Documents against acceptance do not provide any usance period.
(iv) Under buyer's credit, the exporter extends credit directly to the overseas buyer.
(v) Export houses are not entitled to special benefits.
2. Describe the general provisions of exports under the Export Import Policy of India. Do you think that these provisions facilitate exports? Discuss.
3. Discuss various legal documents which are required for exports from India. (20)
4. What do you mean by a letter of credit ? Explain various kinds of letters of credit. (4+16)
5. What are the basic principles of ECGC operation? Explain the procedure of filing claim from ECGC alongwith the documentation formalities. (6+14)
6. Describe rarious types of losses under cargo insurance with suitable examples. (20)
7. Explain various technicala nd specialised services assistance available to Indian exporters. Do you think that they help in facilitating exports from India? Discuss. (16+4)
