5. Mention briefly the learner factors in second language acquisition. Discuss the role of motivation in second language learning. (25)
6. What is standard English ? Mention briefly the main international varieties of English. Give examples to illustrate the varieties. (25)
7. What do you understand by 'foregrounding' ? Discuss its role in the analysis of a literary text. (25)
