1.1 Explain the basic parameters that characterise the storage technology of a computer system. Describe the different categories of storage technology with their features.

1.2 Discuss the functions of Operating Systems (OS). Describe different categories of OS and their features.

2.1 Enumerate different types of communication systems based on the channels used and frequency of transmission. Describe the functioning of any one of them.

2.2 Describe ISO-OSI Reference Model and its importance. Illustrate with a diagram.

3.1 What are the various operations in libraries that can be categorised as 'house keeping operations' ? Discuss how computers can be useful in performing these operations.

3.2 Discuss the objectives and functions of DBMS. Describe different types of data models in this context.

4.1 Explain the needs and benefits of resource sharing in the present day context. Dscuss the role of international agencies in this direction.

4.2 Describet he aims of establishing a library and information (L & D network. How can you classify L & I network, based on services offered ? Describe their features.

5.0 Write short notes on any three of the following( in about 300 words each) :
