Note: Answer any five questions in 400 words each from the following questions given in Section I and Section II, selecting atleast two questions out of each section. All questions carry equal marks.

SECTION I

1. List the types of man-made disasters and highlight the concerns in disaster management (10)

2. Discuss the essential elements of the preparedness and response activities for mitigation of chemical disasters. (10)

3. What is biological disaster? Describe the specific factors which aggregate te vulnerability of biological disaster (10)

SECTION II

4. Discuss the different types of building fires. (10)

5. Describe the causes and impacts af coal fires. (10)

6. Describe the three major components of forest fire management. (10)

7. Examine the major causes of deforestation in India. (10)

8. Explain the characteristics and causes of industrial effluents. Also explain their impact on environment and humans. (10)

9. What is the meaning of 'accidents' in railway terminology? Discuss two causes of rail accidents (10)

10. Write short notes on the following in about 200 words each : (10)
(a) Main sources of air pollution
(b) Greenhouse effect
