The first Common Law Admission Test 2008 (CLAT) for admission into various Law courses offered by the seven Law Universities in India will be held on May 11, 2008. CLAT 2008 will be conducted at the seven universities and at 12 other centres across the country. The rank obtained in the CLAT will be taken into account to admission to various Law Courses of the Universities.

The first CLAT will be conducted by the National Law School of Indian University (NLSIU), Bangalore. The Vice Chancellor of NLSIU A Jayagovind will be the convener for the examination.

About CLAT

CLAT will be of two hours duration objective type test consisting of questions covering English, General Knowledge, Basic Mathematics, Legal and Logical Reasoning
