The Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani is a University established under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 vide notification No. F.12-23/63.U-2 dated 18th June, 1964. It is an all-India Institute for higher education for men and women, fully residential, and awards its own degrees. Admissions to all the Integrated First Degree programmes of BITS, Pilani, at Pilani campus and Goa campus, will be made on the basis of a Computer based Online Test conducted by BITS, Pilani. This test will be referred to as BITS Admission test, in short as BITSAT.
