The following are the new courses being introduced. M.Plianning (environment) in Department of Architecture and ME (construction technology and project management) in Civil Engineering Department. MCA, MSc(organic chemistry) four year BBA (honors) and one-year full time PG diploma in risk and insurance management at the GITAM College of Management, part-time diploma course in Arabic, short-term diploma course in acting, certificate course in television acting and anchoring and certificate course in make-up.

Another new course, BCom (customer service management) is being introduced followed by an MoU signed between the School of Distance Education and HSBC.

AU was also proposing to introduce the following courses MSc (nano Siences), MSc (tech) in petroleum geo-sciences for BSc students in Geology Department MTech. (petroleum exploration) MPEd four year Bachelor of Design course in Department of Fine Arts and PG diploma in criminal justice in Law College.
