Professor faces charges of misappropriation of funds of Rs. 98 lakhs

According to a press release issued on Saturday, the Executive Council of Andhra University has decided to serve a notice to the former directors of its Population Research Centre M. Vivekananda Murthy to explain his case on the charge of misappropriating funds to the tune of Rs. 98 lakhs.
The decision was taken by the Executive Council at its meeting held in Hyderabad on Friday to this effect. The Vice Chancellor of AU L. Venugopal Reddy in the Executive Committee meeting discussed the report submitted by Enquiry Officer Justice B. Ranga Raju revealed, that the professor had misappropriated the funds.
