AUCE gets approval from AICTE

Andhra University College of Engineering has obtained the approval of All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) for new courses MS (IT) and MS (Software) under the department of Computer Science and Systems Engineering. The Vice Chancellor of Andhra University, L Venugopal Reddy speaking at a press conference said that in view of the rapid growth in information technology that necessitated to launch the two courses. He said that these courses would match the industry needs. He added that these courses have already been introduced by institutions like IITs, BITS et., and AU is one of the few universities to start the course.
He said that MS (IT) (Software Engineering) are five year integrated programmes having 60 seats each. The first year of both the courses are common in respect of all other branches of engineering. He said that there were many emerging ares in computers like grid computing, quantum computing and pervasive computing systems which focus on state of art technologies that are set to dominate the software sector. He said that Andhra University will also introduce MS programmes in economics and geology since both have great demand. It will also start MPEd.,BPEd., from this year onwards.
He added that two courses were introduced in Chemical Engineering. They are MTech (Pollution Control Engineering) and MTech (Chemical Engineering – Plant design). The Principal of AU Engineering College Allam Apparao was present in the conference. The VC said that the late date for submitting application forms for MS IT and Software Engineering is August 3 and the entrance test is likely to be held on August 19.
