Two-day even leaves mixed bag for job aspirants

Career Awareness and Recruitment Drive (CARD) programme was inaugurated at Andhra University on Saturday. CARD is a two-day event jointly organized by Andhra University and Andhra Pradesh State Council for Higher Education in association with NASSCOM, TMI Network and Orbit Consultancy.
A large number of students took part in the CARD. They participated in the awareness-cum-recruitment programmes conducted by various companies and interacted with the company representatives. Some students appeared for preliminary interviews and were assured to be contacted later. Nearly 20 companies including Dell, HSBC, HDFC Standard Life Insurance, Airtel, Tata Chemicals Limited, Nipuna, Infosys, Wipro BPO participated in the event.
APSCHE Chairman KC Reddy inaugurated the event and asked the students to take advantage of the opportunity to get jobs. He emphasized the need to acquire spoken English and communication skills for the jobs. AU Vice Chancellor, L Venugopal Reddy, Registrar, P Vijaya Prakash and other officials participated in the event.
