Focuses on engineering job prospects

The Andhra University (AU) Vice Chancellor L. Venugopal Reddy inaugurated a Conference of students, metallurgical engineers and technologists (COSMET-2007) on Wednesday at the Department of Metallurgical Engineering.
Speaking on the occasion, the Vice Chancellor said the department has many achievements at its credit by making rapid strides in academics, research and consultancy projects. He emphasized the need to organize more programmes, which would enhance industry institute interaction.
The Principal of AU College of Engineering Allam Apparao speaking on the occasion congratulated the department for achieving academic excellence with the aid of TEQIP grants. The Visakhapatnam Steel Plant Director PK Mishra who was the chief guest in his keynote address presented the global scenario of the steel industry and the corresponding job prospects for the young engineers.
