Andhra University - Andhra University to host 95th Science Congress

Prime Minister would be participating in the event

Andhra University is preparing to host the 95th Indian Science Congress (ISC) from January 3 to 7, 2008. The theme of the Congress is 'Knowledge based society using environmentally sustainable science and technology. The Scientific programme Committee of Indian Science Congress Association met to discuss the course of action to be followed for the success of the Science Congress.

At a press conference, the ISCA president R. Ramamurthy said that the Prime Minister would participate in the inaugural session of the Congress on January 3. The president will inaugurate the Children's Science Congress. Andhra University Vice Chancellor, L Venugopal Reddy is hosting the prestigious event for the second time in the past 32 years.

Nearly 5000 delegates from India and abroad are expected to participate in the congress. A few Nobel laureates will also attend the programme and deliver lecturers. In all 14 scientific sessions will be held on different topics such as biology, computer science, medicine, physics, chemistry, computer system, earth sciences and social sciences.
