Feels consumers need to be well informed about their rights

The Vice Chancellor of Andhra University (AU) L. Venugopal Reddy speaking on at a valedictory seminar on 'Consumer Protection in the New Millennium: Law and Policy' on Tuesday emphasized the need for updating the law and policy of relating to consumer protection in the light of the changing needs of people. He said in the wake of globalization and incursion of multinational companies into Indian market, consumers should be well informed of their rights.
Chanakya National Law University Vice Chancellor A. Lakshminath delivered the keynote address. Nearly 70 papers were presented at the seminar, which was organized, jointly by the Dr. BR Ambedkar College of Law and the Indian Institute of Public Administration.
Dr BR Ambedkar College of Law Principal R. Venkatarao, IIPA representative Sunil Dutt and several academicians participated in the seminar.
