Scholarships to be available for next year batch

The Dean of The Indian School of Business (ISB) M Rammohan Rao on Tuesday announced scholarships to a tune of Rs.3.3 crores and these will be available for the students who will be selected for the 2008 batch known as Class 2009. There is a 55 percent increase over the amount offered as scholarship to the Class 2008.

According to him, the scholarships are both merit and need based and will be given to students selected on the basis of academic and professional performance, personal qualities such as leadership, integrity and community service. Scholarships will also be awarded to students from small towns, women students and international students. He said that these scholarships include funding from companies supporting excellence in education.

The number of women students at the ISB has increased to 25 percent this year and scholarships were awarded to women to an extent of 33 percent and added that this trend will continue. He further said that the ISB has entered an agreements including HDFC Bank, SBI, Andhra Bank and Punjab National Bank to provide soft loans to students.
