Says 90 percent of Engineering colleges are ill equipped

The Minister of Technical Education, R Chenga Reddy inaugurating the three day 'Education Fair-2007' organized jointly by KAB Educational Consultants on Saturday said that 90 percent of the colleges are ill equipped in the State. He said that many engineering colleges are lack of infrastructure and proper teaching faculty for imparting quality of education and exploiting the students in a drive for money making.
He said that nearly 300 engineering colleges in the State are said to be maintaining the required infrastructure and faculty members and the rest are not maintaining the standards. He added that he would take up the matter with All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) to see that necessary steps are being taken against deficient colleges to provide the infrastructure and teaching faculty.
KAB Director K Venkatesh said that the main objective of the fair is to provide updated information on education opportunities, courses, institutions etc., under one roof where students an parents can interact directly with educational institution, managements that will serve the student community.
