Hyderabad Centre of Excellence to grow into research and training hub

The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Dr.YS Rajasekhara Reddy after laying a stone for Hyderabad Centre for Excellence (HCE) of the Institute of Cost and Works Accountants (ICWAI) at Nanakarmguda, said that attributes like saving, efficiency ad proper management have significance and that the cost accountants contribute to this.
He expressed confidence that the Institute will produce more and more efficient cost accountants and management experts and hoped that these experts will ensure that better and efficient management systems would be put in place in the State and the country. Chandra Wadhwa, President, ICWAI said that the Parliament was likely to introduce a bill this winter session paving way for setting up of 'Council for Valuer Professionals of India', a regulatory body for valuer professionals on the lines of Medical Council of India.
He said a new ICWAI syllabus is being introduced from 2008 and three year article ship will be mandatory. He added that the ICWAI was hosting the prestigious Global Summit in January 2008, which will be attended by 1000 delegates from both within and outside India. HCE will be focused on delivering research, best practices and tools in the management accounting and finance profession focused on Service Sector. This will benefit corporates in decision support, planning and control functions. It will also promote research into ways for increasing productivity through innovation and technology.
