UGC to hold meeting on June 11 at Osmania University

The University Grants Commission (UGC) is considering a proposal to accord autonomous status to PG colleges in both aided and government colleges in the State. 45 colleges have been granted autonomous status in the State for undergraduate courses. During the Tenth Pan period a phenomenal progress was witnessed in the State has jumped from 17 to 45 including five engineering colleges and now more colleges are coming forward seeking such status.
To consider the proposal, the UGC is conducting meeting with the representatives of all 45 autonomous colleges at Osmania University on June 11. UGC Vice Chairman Mool Chand Sharma and member K Ramamuthy Naidu will conduct the proceedings. APSCHE Chairman KC Reddy and Vice Chancellors of all universities have been invited for the meeting.
