University of Hyderabad - 10 Crores Sanctioned by UGC to School of Chemistry, University of Hyderabad to set up the first Network Facility in India

The School of Chemistry, University of Hyderabad has been recognized by the University Grants Commission of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, to set up the first networking centre in Chemistry in India and sanctioned 10 crores rupees for its establishment.

The School of Chemistry, University of Hyderabad has been recognized by the University Grants Commission of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, to set up the first networking centre in Chemistry in India and sanctioned 10 crores rupees for its establishment.

This Network Centre in Chemistry is the first of its kind in the country and it's an honour for the University of Hyderabad in recognition of its high standards of education and research. The centre will have Infrastructural facilities such as Lecture rooms, laboratory space, equipment and guest house. In addition to this equipments such as High Performance Liquid Chromatograph (HPLC), Fourier Transform Infra-Red Spectrophotometer (FTIR), Ultra Violet Visible Spectrophotometer (UV-VIS), sophisticated facilities such as High Resolution Mass Spectrometer and Single Crystal X-Ray Diffractometer.

The Centre will arrange summer and winter schools in different areas of chemistry and organize meets to expose students towards research. The expertise of the Centre's faculty will be imparted to train young faculty and research students. Collaborative Research Projects on areas of mutual interest between the guest researcher and faculty members will be initiated. The centre will have facility for electronic and print versions of the academic publications.

Apart from this, the centre will provide other Science Mentoring Activities such as: formulating chemistry curriculum and designing the syllabus for new courses, organizing visits of faculty to colleges/universities to deliver lectures and to identify new research areas and facilitating in the execution of their research projects by timely counsel.
