Observes 138th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi on 2nd October 2008 on the campus at Gachibowli by taking up various activities

University of Hyderabad will celebrate the 138th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi on 2nd October 2008 on the campus at gachibowli by taking up various activities. This day has been declared as an International Day of non-violence by the United Nations. A series of programmes are being organised during the week starting from 1st October 2008 for all the students, research scholars, etc. the programmes include:

Competitions on non-violence and peace thought

For students of University of Hyderabad and Student of UH Campus School separately

(a) Elocution (Telugu, Hindi, Urdu & English

(b) Poetry (Telugu, Hindi, Urdu & English

(d) Essay (Telugu, Hindi, Urdu & English)

Peace songs and speech by prominent persons followed by Pledge on Non-Violence on 02-10-2008, Thursday, 10-00 am to 11-30 am at Prof.Gurubaksh Singh Maidan

Poster Exhibition on Life and Works of Mahatma Gandhi on 03-10-2008, Friday, 11-00 am to 4-00 pm at School of Social Sciences

Peace March on 04-10-2008, Saturday, from 4-00 pm starts from IGM Library

Cleanliness drive in Public Place & Distribution of Khadi clothes to Orphans on 05-10-2008, Sunday, from 10-00 am to 12-00 Noon at Lingampally Railway Station
