More than 50 Vice Chancellors from Southern India to attend

The Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) will be hosting a Southern Region Vice Chancellors' conference on September 18 and 19. During the conference, issues like expansion, Internationalization and financing of higher education would be dealt at length. It is expected that more than 50 Vice Chancellors are likely to attend the two day conference.

The Vice Chancellor of JNTU K Rajagopal said that some key issues would come up for discussion including expansion of higher education, equity and inclusion, quality and excellence, academic and administrative reforms and taking Indian higher education to other countries. He said it will be followed by a National Conference of the Vice Chancellors of Central, Deemed and State Universities on Development of Higher Eduction during XI five year plan.

He said that JNTU colleges announced by the State Government this year, that the first phase of Engineering, Pulivendula were inaugurated by the Chief Minister, Dr.YS Rajasekhara Reddy and they include an administrative block, academic block, hostels for girls and boys along with staff quarters and a guest house. The third phase would be completed in the next year, he added.
