University considering the idea of distance education medical courses

Nizamabad, September 29, 2007

The NTR Health University Vice Chancellor, L Krishnam Raju said that the university, in response to the requests from the medical fraternity in rural parts has been toying with the idea of introducing medical education at PG level through the distance mode across the State.

Inaugurating the two day Indian Medical Association State 49th Annual Conference on Saturday, he said that the university will try to introduce the PG in medicine with the help of senior members of the fraternity and the IMA. In his address, the outgoing IMA State president LV Raghavarao said that Annamali University has been offering PG courses in medicine in its distance education.

The IMA two day conference got off at Pragatinagar with over 1,000 doctors from across the State participating.
