About Forensic Science

Modern crime detection has become a scientific endeavor. The role of a forensic scientist in the criminal justice system to perform a function that helps to convert an investigation into a final adjudication, is becoming increasingly important. Hence, Osmania University and AP Forensic Science Laboratory (APFSL), Hyderabad signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), to start a four(4) semester M.Sc course in Forensic Science from the academic year 2000-2001. This course is offered in the Department of Biochemistry, which serves as the nodal department. The objective is to train science graduates in scientific crime investigation methods.

Facilities

The laboratory, library, computer and instrumental facilities available in the science departments of Osmania University and the collaborating institutes like APFSL, CFSL, CCMB, IPA, IICT, NGRI etc are accessible to the students.
