Sir/Madam,

As you are aware the University has been communicating the procedure to be followed for granting readmission to the students in the following cases:

(1)candidates who did not put in the required attendance in a semester / year of a course and thus detained;

(2)candidates who did not pass in the required number of papers and thus detained;

(3)candidates after completing a semester/year did not continue their studies in the next immediate semester/year on personal/health grounds but desire to continue their studies after a short break;

(4)candidates who, after completing a semester / year of the course but taken T.C to join some other course and, come back to continue the earlier course.

In all the above cases, readmission is permissible provided they are within the period of double the duration of the course. Further, it was also informed that the approval of the university has to be obtained in respect of those students who take TC to join some other course and come back for readmission in the same college.

However, the University has been observing that in some cases where the students take TC and come back, the readmissions are given at the college level without prior permission of the University and subsequently asking the University to ratify their action. Moreover, in most of the cases the requests are forwarded to the University just before the cut off date or after the cut off date. This is causing inconvenience to the University and hardship to the students.

In order to avoid the hardship and to streamline the readmissions, the University has revised the procedure for grant of readmission and decided that henceforth, all the readmissions including those students who take TC and come back, shall be granted by the Principals of the concerned colleges directly subject to the fulfillment of the following conditions stipulated by the University.

1)They should have been promoted to next higher class / semester in which they are seeking admission.

2)They should join the course within (4) weeks in case of semester system and (8) weeks in case of year wise system from the date of commencement of classes.

3)They should be able to complete the course within the double the duration of the course from the year of their original admission.

4)They should pay the readmission fee of Rs. 100/- each through Demand Draft drawn in favor of the “Registrar, Osmania University”.

NOTE: No readmission shall be made after the cut off date under any circumstances. The cut off date for granting readmission shall be reckoned from the date of commencement of classes for different courses as per the almanac communicated by the University every year.

Further, the Principals are required to send the list of all such candidates who were given readmission along with the readmission fee of Rs. 100/- per candidate (preferable through a consolidated Demand Draft drawn in favour of the Registrar, OU) to the Registrar, (Academic) Osmania University, within (10) days from the cut off date of readmission in the following proforma:
