The AP State Council for Higher Education (APSCHE) Chairman, KC Reddy said that the Andhra University will hold a two day Career Awareness and Recruitment Drive (CARD) on October 6 with an objective to bring major IT and ITES companies to tier-II cities for the benefit of the final year students. Speaking to media, he said that nearly 15 major companies are participating in the CARD to be held at AU Convocation Hall, Arts College and Assembly Hall.

He said students should bring 10 passport size photographs and resumes for the perusal of recruiting firms. Further, the University is awaiting a green signal for the Ministry of Human Resources Development to its proposal to double the existing 300 seats in Andra University Engineering College for getting IIT status and fill 150 of them on All India Basis.

On Deemed Universities, he further said that there is a need for a regulatory body to keep an eye on the activities of such universities and proposal for such a regulatory body is pending with UGC. AU Vice Chancellor L Venugopal Reddy explained the steps taken to provide placement to maximum number of students passing out of the University.
