15 colleges were given autonomy during the current year

Formally launching the inauguration of the Gayatri Vidhya Parishad Autonomous Degree College, the Vice Chancellor of Andhra University, L.Venugopal Reddy said autonomy to educational institutions is crucial for rendering qualitative education. In this connection, he said that AU has so far given autonomy to 15 degree colleges during the current year.
Speaking on the occasion, he said it will usher a better relations between managements and the students and ultimately yield better academic results. He said that globalization and economic liberalization, the higher education sector was witnessing a revolutionary changes.
GPV Degree College Secretary P Somaraju and College Principal Pragada Raju Anapathi spoke on the occasion while V Sitharamaiah presided over the function.
