Calls Scientists to make India disease free

Former President of India, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam addressing a gathering after formally inaugurating a Knowledge Centre at MNR Education Trust called upon the scientists to develop a disease-free India. He said that people are suffering with dreadful diseases such as the Malaria, HIV and heart ailments. He reminded that there is an increase in the TB-related deaths from 640 to 943.
Dr. Kalam stressed the need to find medicine for HIV/AIDS which are alarming. He called for the need to take the medicine for cerebral malaria to rural areas. Referring to the heart problems amongst children, Kalam said that nearly 4.5 lakh children were found with the problem in the Andhra Pradesh alone and that they need to be given timely treatment.
