Science students to get research contingency grant of Rs. 10,000 per annum

Research students of the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) can rejoice with the the recent decision of the University Grants Commission (UGC) which directed a hike of fellowship. Students of Master of Philosophy (MPhil) will get Rs. 3000 (from the earlier Rs. 1500) per month while students perusing Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) will get Rs. 5000 per month.
The UGC directions also allowed contingency grant for MPhil/PhD Science students to Rs. 10000 per annum while those in other streams would get Rs. 8000 per annum.
