Karnataka State Open University(KSOU) - Courses, Admissions Information & Eligibility details

General Entry Scheme for the KSOU - Information Technology Courses:

A student having completed 10+2 OR EQUIVALENT CAN ENROLL FOR THE FIRST SEMESTER bachelors degree in Information Technology B.Sc(IT). After successful completion of the 1st Semester the student will be eligible to obtain a Certificate in Information Technology (CIT). The student can continue to study higher semesters of the course leading to the Bachelors degree in Information Technology B.Sc(IT). On successful completion of all six semesters of B.Sc(IT) the student can join First semester of the Masters Degree in Information Technology M.Sc(IT).

Lateral entry to the 2nd/3rd Semester of B.Sc(IT):

Students who have completed six months Certificate/Diploma of approved IT related course after the 12th standard or equivalent is eligible to enter second semester of UG Stream. Students who have completed three years Diploma course in Computer Science related courses are eligible to join at third semester of UG Stream.

Lateral entry to the Third Semester of M.Sc(IT)

After successful completion of BE/B.Tech (Computers/Information), GNIIT are eligible to join the third semester of PG stream.

Lateral entry to the Third Semester of M.Sc(IT) for PG diploma holders.

Candidates who have completed on year Post-graduate Diploma in Information Science / Technology and related areas from any of the Universities are eligible to enter third semester of the PG stream leading to M.Sc(IT) Degree.
