Mysore University will be conducting the Karnataka Post Graduate Common Entrance Test (PGCET). According to Higher Education Minister D H Shankaramurthy, 40 per cent of the seats of any University in Karnataka will be reserved for graduate students of the same University, 55 per cent would be for the students from all over Karnataka. The remaining 5 per cent would be reserved for students from all over the country. The draft plan was discussed and formulated by the Karnataka Inter-University Board (IUB).

The PGCET will be conducted for 11 subject except for those which were already conducted by the Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) and the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore. As many as 20,000 application forms are already sold while 20,000 more are in the printing process for this year's PGCET. Though the exact schedule for the examinations is not released, sources say the examinations are most likely to be held on July 20, 21 and 22, 2007.

The last date for obtaining the PGCET application form is June 30, 2007. The last date for submitting the filled in application forms at the designated centers is July 4, 2007.
