Notification for Admission
Applications are invited for admission to M.Tech (Computer Science) with specialization in Digital Image Computing (2007-2008 admissions) in the Department of Computer Science, Kariavattom, University of Kerala. The programme is approved by the AICTE.

ELIGIBILITY
A Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology with at least 55% marks in one of the following branches: Computer Science and Engineering/Electronics Engineering/Electrical Engineering from the University of Kerala OR equivalent
recognized degree of a recognized University OR First Class Master's degree in Computer Science/Computer Application from the University of Kerala OR equivalent recognized Degree.
Admissions for Non-sponsored category of students will be made on the basis of GATE score.
Candidates for sponsored seats will also be governed by the AICTE guidelines :
(i) Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Technology (in branches mentioned above) with at least 55% marks from AICTE approved institutions. Preference will be given to candidates who have qualified GATE.
(ii) Full time work experience with a minimum of two years in a registered firm/company/industry/educational and research institution/any Government Department or Government Autonomous Organization in the relevant field.
(iii) Less than 45 years of age as on 1st January 2007.
GENERAL
1. When GATE qualified candidates are not available, admission will be given to Non-GATE candidates on merit. Such admissions will be based on an entrance test conducted by the Department. Ranking will be done on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination and the entrance test in the ratio 40:60.
2. Along with application, a sponsored candidate shall produce a letter from the employer stating that the candidate is being sponsored to get admission in the programme and will not be withdrawn mid way till the completion of the course.
Sponsored candidates: Ranking will be done on the following basis Qualifying exams 40% weightage
Entrance exams 50% weightage
Experience 10% weightage
(First two years 0% each additional year carries 2% subject to a maximum of 10 marks)
ENTRANCE TEST
The Entrance examination for the Non-GATE candidates including Sponsored candidates will be conducted on 21st July, 2007 at 10.30 a.m. at the Department of Computer Science, University of Kerala, Kariavattom.
HOW TO APPLY
(i) Requests for application forms may be addressed to The Professor and Head, Department of Computer Science, University of Kerala, Kariavattom, Thiruvananthapuram – 695 581. The request should be sent along with the pay-in-slip of University Cash Counter or crossed DD issued by any branch of SBT or SBI or District Co-operative Banks, drawn in favour of the "Finance Officer, University of Kerala, payable at Thiruvananthapuram". The registration fee and fee for application form is Rs.300/- for those who are paying in University Cash Counter and Rs.310/- for DD. In case the candidates choose to send DD, the name of person for whom the remittance is made and the purpose of remittance should be stated on the back of the DD. Request for application through post should be accompanied by selfaddressed, stamped envelope (Rs.5/-).
(ii) The application correctly filled along with attested copies of mark lists of all examinations (semesters/years) should reach "The Professor and Head, Department of Computer Science, University of Kerala, Kariavattom, Thiruvananthapuram – 695 581" on or before 30th June 2007.
(iii) Application form issued to a candidate is not transferable to another person.
