The Institute is under the charge of a full-time Director who provides the necessary academic and managerial leadership to promote the objective of developing career education, identifying promising areas for curricula development, formulating training programmes, implementing them and ensuring adequate monitoring and follow-up. The Director is assisted by an Assistant Director (Academic), and an Assistant Director (Administration). As an Institute maintained by the University, the Garware Institute of Career Education and Development is governed by an Advisory Committee headed by the Vice-Chancellor of the University. The Advisory Committee takes all policy decisions relating to the Institute. The Advisory Committee consists of three representatives of the University, three representatives of the Garware Foundation and eminent persons in the field of Career Education.

Each course is conducted by a course co-ordinator who is ultimately responsible for maintaining the expected standard of the course and for the assessment of student performance. The Co-ordinator is responsible for the development of course material and suitable faculty. The course Co-ordinator works in collaboration with the placement officer to ensure that field training meets the objectives of the course and covers the syllabus adequately. The co-ordinator also advises students on the method of instruction and scheme of assessment at the beginning of the semester. GICED works entirely with visiting faculty from local industry/profession representing a blend of experience in Indian industry and academic achievement. Thus the career education programmes have been uniquely designed to meet Indian needs. What better way to give the students the expert knowledge that no book can do justice to!
