Pondicherry University - PhD Admissions 2007

Applications are invited for admission to Ph.D. Programmes in the following University Programmes in the following University Departments and Affiliated Institutions

1) Ph.D. Programmes offered in the University Departments (Full Time, Part Time (Internal) & Part Time (External) Anthropology, Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, Commerce, Chemistry, Drama & Theatre Arts, Economics, English, Earth Science, Ecology & Environmental Science, Environmental Technology, French, History, Hindi, International Studies, Management, Mathematics, Marine Biology (Port Blair, Andamans), Philosophy, Physical Education & Sports, Physics, Sanskrit, Sociology, Tamil, Women's Studies.

2) Ph.D. Programmes offered in the Affiliated Institutions (Full Time & Part Time (Internal) only)

* Vector Control Research Centre, Puducherry Chemistry*, Epidemiology*, Microbiology*, Zoology*

* Regional Medical Research Centre, Port Blair, Andamans Entomology, Microbiology.

* Candidates with DST / CSIR / CMR, etc., fellowships alone are eligible to apply.

For application forms and other information write to the Dy. Registrar (Aca-II), Pondicherry University, Puducherry 605 014, along with (i) a Demand Draft for Rs.300/- drawn in favour of "The Finance Officer, Pondicherry University, Puducherry" (Rs.100/- for SC / ST or Physically and Visually Challenged candidates with a copy of appropriate certificate), (ii) 2 address slips (stickers) and (iii) a stamped (Rs.68/-) self addressed envelope (32cm x 25 cm).

Applications can also be obtained in person from the Indian Bank at the University campus on payment of cash (plus Rs.10/- as banking service charge)

Applications can also be submitted online through the University website www.pondiuni.org. Send the hard copy (in A4 size bond sheet) along with the DD for the prescribed fee and the copies of required certificates.

Selection will be done on the basis of the candidates' performance in entrance examination, which will be conducted at Puducherry and New Delhi and Interview at Pondicherry University Puducherry only.

Sleeper class train / bus fare will be paid the candidates who will be called for interview, if the travel distance is beyond 500 kms by the shortest route on production of original / copy of tickets (in respect of Ph.D. programmes offered in the University

Last Date for submission of filled in Application forms is 25.01.2007 Entrance Test will be held on 18.02.2007
