Applications are invited for admission to PhD and MS programmes under regular [with / without Half-time Teaching/Research Assistantship (HTRA)], external, part-time, sponsored schemes and MS Entrepreneurship in the engineering departments of Aerospace, Applied Mechanics, Biotechnology, Chemical, Civil, Computer Science & Engg., Electrical, Mechanical, Metallurgical & Materials Engg. and Ocean Engg. and in the departments of Chemistry, Humanities & Social Sciences, Management Studies, Mathematics and Physics.

Prescribed application along with the Admission Brochure can be obtained by sending a request along with a self-addressed envelope (26 x 18 cm) with a demand draft for Rs. 250/- (Rs. 125/- in the case of SC/ST/PH candidates) drawn on any nationalised bank in favour of IIT Madras payable at Chennai to the Deputy Registrar (Acad.), IIT Madras, Chennai 600036 on or before 24.03.2006 [by post] and upto 31.03.2006 [in person].

The envelope must be superscribed as "Request for application for PhD/MS programme". The completed application should be sent to the above address. Candidates applying for more than one department should submit a separate application for each department.

Application and other details can also be (i) downloaded from the website http://www.acadadmission.iitm.ac.in and (ii) candidates who wish to apply for the above programme in the Electrical Engg. Dept., can apply on line on the website http://www.ee.iitm.ac.in/msphd/ All such candidates (both i & ii) have to send the demand draft along with a hard copy of the filled in application.
