Old BE Students eligible for to appear for papers

In what is considered to be relief to many old students who took the Bachelor of Engineering (BE) course of the Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU) and failed to clear the papers in the examinations, the MKU Syndicate has recently approved a proposal for allowing old Bachelor of Engineering (BE) students (including Part-Time students) to appear for the examinations and clear their arrear papers.
Students whose transitory provision was over in 1993 need to pay a penalty of Rs. 7,000 apart from the examination fee. Similarly, students who joined the course between 1998 and 2002 have to pay a penalty of Rs. 5000 apart from the examination fee.
Students from autonomous colleges have to pay the examination fee to the college and the penalty fee to the University. However, students of Non-autonomous colleges appearing for these examinations have to pay both the penalty fee and the examination fee to the University itself.
