Applications are invited from the eligible candidates for admission to each of the following M.Tech. Degree Courses for the session 2007-2008.
A. 2 years Full-time / 3 years Part-time Courses (Day Time)
1. MTech in Chemical Engineering.
2. MTech in Civil Engineering (Structural Engineering)
3. MTech in Electrical Engineering (Electrical Systems)
4. MTech in Mechanical Engineering (Design & Production Engineering)
5. MTech in Metallurgical & Materials Engg. (Physical Metallurgy/ Industrial Metallurgy)
6. MTech in Advanced Materials Science and Technology (Physics Department)
7. MTech in Corrosion Science & Technology (Chemistry Department)
8. MTech in Computer Science & Engineering (Information Technology) / Full-time only.
9. MTech in Electronics & Communication Engineering (Telecommunication Engg.) / Full-time only.
B. 3 years Part-time MTech Course in Operation Research in Industry & Business Management (Evening Course)
C. Eligibility Criteria:
1. Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Metallurgical, Electronics & Communication Engineering Courses: BE / B. Tech. / equivalent in the respective branch of Engineering with 2 years of experience.
2. Computer Science & Engineering: BE / BTech in CSE, IT / equivalent AMIE (I) with 2 years of experience.
3. Corrosion Science & Technology: MSc in Chemistry (Pure / Applied) or BE / BTech In Chemical Engineering or AIC (I)
4. "Operation Research in Industry & Business Management" Course: Degree in any branch of Engineering / Technology / AMIE / AMIIM / AMIICHE/ MCA / MSc with Mathematics in Graduate Level.
5. "Advanced Materials Science and Technology" Course: MSc (Physics / Applied Physics / Electronics) or BE / BTech (Metallurgical Engineering. / Materials Engineering / Electronics & Communication Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Electronics Engineering/ Instrumentation Engineering) with at least 55 % Marks, or equivalent grade.
Prescribed Application form and Prospectus will be available from the cash counter of the Institute form 20.03.2007 to 20.04.2007 between 10AM to 12.30 Noon (working days) on payment of Rs. 500/- (rupees five hundred only) by Demand draft drawn in favour of "Director, NIT, Durgapur" payable at Durgapur. Application form can also be downloaded form the website http://www.nitdgp.ac.in and can be submitted to the Director or Dean (PG Studies & Research) NIT, Durgapur-713209, West Bengal, along with Demand Draft of Rs. 500/-(rupees five hundred only).
Important dates related to Admission of M.Tech. Degree Courses:
a) Issue of prescribed Application Form from Institute counter : 20.03.2007
b) Last Date of receipt of complete Application Form : 20.04.2007
c) Viva-voce for Full-Time GATE qualified candidates in respective Department: 03.05.2007
d) Written Test & Viva-voce for Full-Time Non-GATE, Full-Time Sponsored and Part-Time Non-sponsored (Day & Evening) candidates in respective Department : 07.05.2007
e) Publication of list of selected candidates and waiting list, course wise and category-wise on Notice Board in front of Academic Section (Also available on Institute Website) : 18.05.2007
f) Admission of selected candidates : 05.06.2007 to 08.06.2007 (10 A.M. to 1 P.M.)
g) Commencement of session : 09.07.2007
