Two panels to probe

The Executive Council of Sri Krishnadevaraya University (SKU) set up two committees to probe into the irregularities and grab charges on their staff. It is to be recalled one of the functionaries was retired and another was facing charges. Former Registrar, T.Srinivasula Reddy was suspended last month caught red-handed while accepting a bribe from a private college for giving permission to a Post Graduate course.

The Vice Chancellor wanted the case to be handed over to CBI to enquire about the bribe charges and irregularities against Srinivasula Reddy and P.Chinnappa Reddy, Head of the Department for Physical Education. But majority of the Council members opposed it. As a result, two committees were formed to probe into the incidents. The fresh committee appointed the Executive Council on May 19 comprises Senior Professors E. Vijay Kumar, R. Chandrasekhar Reddy and Umamohan. The second panel comprises P.L.N. Reddy, Azmatullah Khan, K.T. Sridhar and Kiran.
