General Information

The Student Handbook and Prospectus, containing the application form, can be obtained from the following Tele-earning/Regional Centres or from Director (SR&E), IGNOU, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi-11 0068 in person. on payment of Rs. 30/- in cash or through post by sending IPO or Demand Draft of Rs.80/- in favour of IGNOU, at the city of the Reaional Centre/New Delhi as the case may be.

About the course

In keeping with the demand for skill development in Library and Information Science with the application of ICT, IGNOU has developed a one years Post Graduate Diploma Programme in Library automation and Networking which will be offered from January 2004.

The programme aims at developing professional competence of the Library and Information Professionals in an automated and networked environment. The programme also provides practical exposure to enhance technological skills of the learners for independently developing or managing a computerized library. At present, this programme is being offered in selected regional/telelearning centers.

The prospectus and students handbook can be obtained from the IGNOU Regional Centes at Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, New Delhi, Calcutta, Pune, Guwahati and IGNOU(SRE Division).

Admission details

Admission notification is generally released in May/June and the last date for submission of filled-in application forms will be September 30 for January session and March 31 for July session. However students are requested to check with the official admission notification for the exact dates related to admissions.
