Question 1: Comment on the following to bring out their contribution to define the systems at various levels:

(b) Entity-relationship model
(c) Data dictionary

Question 2: Illustrate with suitable examples, the relative merits of system flowcharts, decision tables and decision trees? Which of these do you find easiest to draw and understand?

Question 3: Which of the fact finding techniques among the available would you use in each of the following circumstances?
(a) Deciding on the design of a new application form for IGNOU programmes.
(b) Deciding on the design of a ballot paper that can be automatically

Question 4: What are the different forms in which software piracy is carried out? As an advisor to an organisation that is moving towards purchase of new software, what would you suggest as methods to prevent their efforts in in-house software development from being stolen?
