Minority colleges have been finding difficult to get students

At a meeting held at the Andhra Pradesh Council of Higher Education (APSCHE), decision has taken to reduce the qualifying marks from 30 to 25 per cent in EAMCET. With this decision, the qualifying marks has been reduced to 40 from 48. There are about 12,000 seats vacant in the convenor quota and fairly large number of seats in the management quota.

A notification changing the qualifying marks has been issued and the second round of counselling is likely to begin from August 23. Private engineering colleges especially Muslim and Christian minority colleges have been finding it difficult to get students under the management quota.
