Hyderabad, February 2, 2007

Syllabi modified

The Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) Vice Chancellor K. Rajagopal said that the syllabi for EAMCET 2007 to be held on May 4 has been modified to allow CBSE and ICSE students to take the test for admission to engineering and medicine courses in the State.

Speaking at a press conference on Friday, he said the changes in the syllabi, particularly of chemistry were mentioned in the prospectus given with the application form. The test for the engineering stream will be in the morning from 10am to 1pm and for medical stream, it will be held in the afternoon from 2.3pm to 5.30pm. The qualifying mark in the EAMCET has been reduced from 48 to 40. He said that the EAMCET 2007 OMR answer sheet will have the hall ticket number, name and photograph of the student.

He further added that the students can avoid postal delay in submitting the application online. On purchase of the application form, candidates will get an application number and a unique code. These two have to be entered on the website www.eamcet.org and fill the application form, scan and attach a photo and upload the form online. Hall tickets will be issued between April 5 to 11. They will be dispatched by post and can also downloaded the same from the website. Application forms will be sold at all e-Seva centres and select post offices from February 8 and the cost is Rs. 250.
