The All India Council for Technical Education announced 50 more Engineering Colleges in Andhra Pradesh. With this the total number of Engineering Colleges in the state rose to 157 and the total number of seats is at 42,801.

48 more new MCA Colleges were also being introduced this year. These 48 colleges are expected to accommodate 2000 more students.

The Integrated Common Entrance Test 2001 - the Examinations conducted for Entrance to MBA & MCA Programmes in various colleges in the state were announced. The total qualified students rate is 97.62 %

Andhra Pradesh Board of Intermediate Studies released the 2nd Year Intermediate Exam results. The results ware made available over the Internet and through SMS Cellular Phones. Though the results were made available to over a dozen websites, many of the sites could not be opened as there was technical problems related with them. Links to the website are available at IndiaStudyCenter.com. Sri G Sudheer released the Examination results. The total pass percentage was at 40.3 %. Of the Regular students, the pass percentage is at 48.8 % while only 17.5 % of private students were able to pass. As ever, Girls took the lead in the pass percentages. Krishna district topped the pass percentage while Mahaboobnagar registered the least. The Supplementary examinations for those who have failed in less than 4 subjects would be held on 2nd of next month.

The Indira Gandhi National Open University changes its website to www.ignou.ac.in

The Intermediate 1st Year Examination results were released. As ever, the girls fared better than boys. The total pass percentage was 40.60 % instead of 32.90 of last year. The Second year examinations results will be announced on June 6.

EAMCET 2001 Committee Chariman Dr Y Venkatrami Reddy said that the EAMCET 2001 Exam results will be announced between June 13 and June 18. He said that this is the first time that the examination paper was set 100 % error free.

The SSLC Exam results of Karnataka were released by Mr. T N Vijay Bhaskar - Director of Pulic Intruction ( Examination ). About 50.92 % students who appeared for the exams passed. Girls fared better than Boys.

Andhra Pradesh
The Entrance for various Polytechnic colleges in the state - CEEP 2001 results were announced today. Minister for Technical Education Sri A.Rajendra Prasad released the results today. The top 10 ranks details were released. The first rank went to Hall Ticket No : 192369 who scored 111/120 marks.

Board of Intermediate Education said that the Colleges for Junior Intermediate will begin from June 1st. Authorities said that the application forms for the admissions can be had from the colleges from 10th May and May 19th is put as the last date for the receipt of the filled in applications. The colleges will be releasing the list of selected candidates on 22nd, 24th and 26th. The Admissions of the selected candidates will be done on 30th May.
