AU derecognises AMIE
Visakhapatnam, July 27, 2003

Two students who appeared for admission to ME/MTech program of the Andhra University were surprised when their AMIE Degree was not treated as an equivalent to BE or BTech. The exception made in the admission is that electrical engineering where degree is not listed in the eligibility criteria. Both the candidates have qualified GATE 2003 conducted by IIT(Chennai) for which BE/BTech were considered equivalent.

AIME Degrees were actually treated equivalent by Ministry of Human Resources Development, University Grants Commission, for appearance in GATE and admission to IIT’s and REC’s in the country.
