The Universities of Calcutta, Madras and Mumbai which are celebrating their 150th anniversary this year have signed up an MoU before the Indian President APJ Abdul Kalam. As per the MoU, the three Universities will be offering ‘joint degrees’ and ‘joint-Ph.D’ program.
Plans are also on roll for a set up of tele-education and high-speed data link facilities for online library networking apart from resource sharing. 150 ‘inter-university students’ fellowships will be instituted for PG studies and research. Short-term faculty exchange program in select areas and mutual distance education centers will also be set up.
