A Seminar on the concept of ‘Cluster of Colleges for Academic Cooperation and Excellence’ was organized by the South Eastern Regional Office (SERO) of University Grants Commission (UGC) at the Osmania University Centre for Distance Education.
UGC is considering introduction of the concept of ‘Cluster of Colleges’ so that colleges within the same cluster can share their resources.
UGC Member and Chairman of National Council of Rural Institutions Prof BH Briz-Kishore inaugurated the seminar and spoke on the occasion. He said that no single college can do equally well in all Departments and that the clustering concept will help colleges to make use of other colleges in the same cluster to share the resources. He said that proper utilisation of the human resources, academic, financial and administrative infrastructure can be achieved with this.
