Courses to be offered at select universities to begin with

A five year integrated degree and post graduate course will be introduced from the next academic year in Rajahmundry, Nizamabad and Kadapa universities. The syllabus will be recommended by experts’ committee which will submit its report by March next year. It will be such that a science student will be exposed to arts and vice versa. The five year integrated course has already been introduced in Andhra University, Kakatiya and SV Universities. The Chief Minister Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy convened a meeting on Tuesday. The Minister for Higher Education P Venkateswara Rao said Rs.20 crores would be released immediately for acquisition of lands for Adikavi Nannayya University at Rajahmundry and Rs.5 crores for the one at Nizamabad.
